There should be some remedy for REMOVING ineffectual laws from the books, but no, there is only ADDITION to the ineffectual laws already on the books, that merely clutter up the actual enforcement of civil order.
And that is what laws are really for, to assure the quiet enjoyment of your daily life with no intrusions on tranquility.
Think about it.
Two laws, only.
Do not be annoying or abusive to your neighbors unnecessarily.
Do not set yourself up to be too easily annoyed or abused.
Last summer I led a weeklong boys camp. We had two rules.
1. Don’t do anything stupid
2. If you want to do something stupid, see rule 1
It was amazing how well it worked. We only had one incident and when I told the boy he broke rule one, he hung his head in shame and offered a very mature response.
