You know...I actually laughed out loud when I saw this--not a cynical laugh, the laugh one gets from really funny slapstick comedy.

How hare-brained can these people get???

When Western Civilization finally collapses and human beings return to the mentality prevalent at its origins, as expressed in the Iliad and the Odyssey, for example, these nitwits will be locked up in straightjackets, that is, if straightjackets can be found in the rubble of the fall.

This is the story of mankind: Civilization rises, flowers, decays, and descends into madness. It falls into a dark age. Then civilization rises again. The same thing happens over and over again.

There are always nutcases, but civilizations fall when the nutcases outnumber everybody else.

Thank you for the thoughtful reply.

Yes, it seems that the flowers are decaying and the geometrically growing number of loons are forcing us into a deep madness.

So for now, I will just try to stay here in our fragrant gardens and appreciate the spring's new growth in these acres of perennials.

Have a pleasant weekend.
