Even for Democrats who want to impeach and remove President Trump, they know the waters of this are murky, choppy, and loaded with peril. You cannot go off half-cocked. One minor misstep can lead to political blowback that could all but assure a second term for Donald Trump—and with this current crop of Democrat, there are a lot of loudmouths who could mess things up. I’m not complaining about that. I hope Democrats continue to reach full froth on impeachment and Russian collusion because they’re looking totally insane. And if Nancy Pelosi wants to keep her caucus from going totally off the reservation, she better speak to Rep. Al Green (D-TX), who said that the Democrats just have to impeach Trump…because he will get a second term. Green sad this during an MSNBC interview on May 4 (via Free Beacon):
Rep. Al Green (D., Texas) said … that if Democrats don't begin impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, "he will get re-elected."
Green, who has called for Trump's removal from office since 2017 and introduced articles of impeachment that year, told MSNBC that he dismissed the idea that impeaching Trump could help him politically.
"I'm concerned if we don't impeach this president, he will get re-elected. If we don't impeach him, he will say he's been vindicated," Green said. "He will say the Democrats had an overwhelming majority in the House and they didn't take up impeachment. He will say that we had a constitutional duty to do it if it was there, and we didn't. He will say he's been vindicated."
It isn’t new for Green to be pushing for impeachment. He has been at the forefront of the impeach Trump train from the beginning. He’s filed articles of impeachment before—all without success. Yet, is this an admission of fear? The 2020 Democratic clown car is loaded with has-beens and no-names. It’s now over 20 candidates, and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio might be joining the mix. It’s a left-wing circus. At the same time, while the Democrats tout their strength with women and diversity, it’s old white dudes leading the field. You bet there will be an increase in identity politics nonsense when the debates begin. It will be a massive race concerning who can out-liberal the other. It’s a one-way ticket to crazytown, which the larger electorate will find unpalatable. Free college, Medicare for All, open borders, and the Green New Deal. Oh, and no plan to pay for any of this other than taxing Amazon, or something. So, yeah—I can see Green’s point. Trump is on the track to re-election, especially if the economy keeps roaring.

But if the Dems in the House do impeach him he is still unlikely to be removed by the Republicanish Senate. And then the pro-Trump populous will be fired up.
Hopefully President Trump gets re-elected and has very long coat tails. Hopefully the republicans retake the house, keep the senate and White House. I’m hoping each committee in the house has only 3 democrats. Maybe then they will learn a lesson.

And if you do impeach him he will be reelected and by the way you might also get what you really want - a very bloody civil war. Think the Nazis had an easy time of it against the resistance in Denmark, Holland or France? Some citizens can’t live with constant lies and propaganda and jack booted thuggery. They really can’t.
This one has been floating around for a day or two. Trump commented about it at his Florida speech and Green commented back to Trump.
I wish republicans would learn a few lessons.

That,simply put,is *exactly* what happened.The Collusion Delusion always has been,and always will be,about November 2020.
It’s a circus started by the Republicans in 2015 - 2016. It led to the election of an outsider who was elected because he was the only candidate who recognized that the real issue was immigration. There is no left-winger who even comes close to figuring this out or, if he/she does, can campaign on it.
