Weld County Sheriff Steve Reams announced Thursday he is hosting iconic American rocker and Second Amendment die hard Ted Nugent this summer for a campaign fundraiser in Windsor.
The event, titled Fighting the Stranglehold on our Constitution: An American Celebration, takes place June 21 at The Island at Pelican Lakes, 445 Baja Drive, in Windsor. The event kicks off at 5 p.m. with a barbecue buffet. A rally begins at 7 p.m.
The Nuge will serve as the events keynote speaker. Reams also will speak during the event, as will other still to be determined county sheriffs.
Tickets are limited and cost $150. The price includes general admission, the buffet and soft drinks. There will be a cash bar.
Reams is next up for re-election in 2022. Nugent backed Reams first bid for sheriff ahead of the 2014 election.
The two re-connected when Reams campaign team noticed Nugent was sharing news stories and commenting about the sheriffs stance against the controversial Red Flag Bill on his various social media accounts. The sheriffs people reached out to Nugents people, and he agreed to partner on an event, Reams said.
Go to Reams Facebook page for more information and a link to purchase tickets.

Got to love old Uncle Ted.

I go up to them and say 'How much?' 'It's free.' 'No, how much will you pay me to take one.'
Lots of open space and things to shoot at in Weld County, Ted will like it there.
