Iran will not engage in talks with the US, a senior Iranian official said Friday, adding that the United States would never dare to attack the Islamic republic.
Yadollah Javani, the deputy leader of Irans Revolutionary Guard Corps political bureau, told the Iranian Tasnim outlet that Iran will not negotiate with the US, according to a report released Friday.
We will not negotiate. There will be no negotiations on any issue with the US, Javani said, adding and the US will not dare to attack Iran.
We will not surrender.
Javani went on to say that Iran was not suffering the kind of internal disarray he suggested the US believed would set in following its restoration of sanctions on Tehran.
"With the new sanctions and pressures imposed by the United States Trump thought that Iran would face a kind of internal disarray and would eventually negotiate with the United States, but in practice it did not happen."
In 2018, the Trump administration was confident that Iran would be in turmoil, and would be forced to negotiate with the US but in practice this did not happen.
Javanis comments came after President Donald Trump urged the Iranian regime to agree to talks with the US aimed at ending its nuclear program while hinting that the US could use military force against Iran.

Carter didn’t attack after they stormed out embassy and took everyone hostage. If that wasn’t an act of war, I don’t know what is
Trump was amazingly poised and presidential at press conference. If the Iranian people heard him they would know his intent is to help them.
We are one click, one click away from solving a lot of things in this world.
If we are truly the peace keepers, then by showing enormous strength ,we should bring peace.
China, N. Korea, Iran, Venezuela, etc. This can all get worked out.
Trump is the only man in the world to do this.
This is not Jimmuh they’re dealing with. He doesn’t need to nuke them. He can just make Iran’s money non-trad-able in international markets, and bar oil exports from Iran. Unless, of course, Margaret Thatcher complains to Joe Biden.
I haven’t been paying much attention to Iran of late...but I think engaging them would be a far cry from the relative ease with which Iraq was dispatched. It may not be a prudent course to take..
War is the very least weapon the US has.
Are you a big ol’ neocon like John Bolton?
Is this another situation that Bolton underestimated like Venezuela?
The citizens of Iran are far more sophisticated and westernized than those of Iraq. We should make sure that they have the weapons they’ll need and then get things started. The citizens will take it from there.
I wouldn't bet on that. The Iranian's were scared to death of Saddam Hussein. They knew he was crazy enough to send troops over the border into Iran anytime Iran shot their mouths off and threatened him. Iran "returned the favor" at times sending people over to Iraq to start shit, only to get their asses kicked.
Then the Iranian's saw how fast our military dispatched of the RNG. That alone sent them a HUGE message.
Iran may be controlling Iraq now, but the Iranian military even today doesn't compare to what Saddam Hussein had before the US took him out.
Iran's not stupid, they know what they're up against with the U.S. They are foolish however.
President Trump is the ONLY President (Republican or Democrat) to take on Iran head-on.
Obama didn't do it.
Bush #43 didn't do it.
Clinton didn't do it.
Bush #41 didn't do it.
Reagan didn't do it IIRC.
Carter was too much of a pussy to do it and as a poster upstream accurately pointed out, "if taking or Embassy folks hostage for 444 days wasn't an act of war, I don't know what is."
Not really, but lets face it, after many times in our history we could have organized things for the best. We chose to leave it up to others...Like Russia...etc
We now have dialogue between leaders, with Trump in the center.
IF THE GOP AND MEDIA WOULD GET BEHIND HIM, JUST ONCE...THINGS WILL HAPPEN FAST FOR THE GOOD.
We were told before the invasion of Iraq that the Iraqis were the Germans of the Middle East, very industrious, and just waiting for the freedom we would bring them. Yeah, that turned out well.
Now you believe a similar line about Iran?
To Hades with that.
How would you have handled Iran differently—other than not given them Obama’s big, wet kiss?
“Yadollah Javani, the deputy leader of Irans Revolutionary Guard Corps political bureau...”
Who controls the style sheet at this publication? They forgot to use the adjective “elite” when describing the mutts that make up the IRGC.
At the dawn of recorded history, Persia was at war.
I think you’re forgetting what the Irani hoi polloi tried to do several times since the mullahs took over. There’s also the defections of top military and scientific people. All they need is a little encouragement and I suspect that’s going on right now.
No, the US won’t invade Iran, why bother, it’s just a excrement-hole. That doesn’t mean we won’t use missiles and airstrikes to remove or degrade capability, maybe even eliminate a leader or two. Might put a few special forces in country briefly to ensure destruction of critical sites. But invade? No way, we don’t want or need anything they have. There are a few thing we’d like them not to have, and we can take them out just about any time the mood strikes us - as long as we’re willing to put up with the political fallout.
They are the most pro-American population in the Middle East, outside of Israel. They have, arguably, the most anti-American Government on Earth. That Government has executed literally tens of thousands of them for the purpose of political oppression, to impose a corrupt dictatorship. Many families have a blood feud with that regime.
In the last month, pressure has skyrocketed on that regime. The US has cranked up the sanctions, by not renewing any waivers for Iranian oil. That is designed to bring Iranian oil exports to zero, this month. Well over half their Government budget is funded by oil exports. They can sell some things, like their rights in the Caspian Sea to Russia, or try to borrow some, but the profound financial train wreck comes this month.
The Pasdaran (IRGC) dominates up to half of their domestic economy, thanks to decades of corruption and abuse of Government powers. That organization was just declared a terrorist organization - so all the assets they have accumulated for themselves and their families suddenly have the International legal status of drug cartel money.
Oh, and being designated terrorists, also makes them (including the joker making this wishful press release) legal targets for US Military Forces and Intelligence Communities under the post 9-11 Authorization for the Use of Military Force.
The Gunboats are arriving on station for the next phase of diplomacy, as the economic sanctions are are set to kill.
They don't have to negotiate - we can starve them out. If they try to shoot their way to concessions, we will have the power on hand to sink their Navy, destroy their Air Force, service all their nuclear sites, incapacitate the port of Bandar Abbas where most of the Nation's container traffic flows, keep the Straight of Hormuz open, and blow up a series of palaces and mansions, while it looks like people are home. After those few days, we can pull back and watch things burn from outer space.
They still won't HAVE to negotiate.
Like we are now. Keep putting the screws to them... let the people rise up.
