Prior to the Communist revolution in Russian and the creation of the NKVD, the Czar’s secret police were known as the Cheka.

The Cheka were the Bolshevik precursor of the NKVD. The Tsar's Secret Police were called the "Okhrana"

Czar’s secret police were known as the Cheka.

Checka was communist. The Czar's secret police was the Okhrana.
