KCNA yesterday also released a photo of Kim observing and directing the launches on the Hodo Peninsula near Wonsan on the east coast. (Obviously not a happy camper these days):

It is my understanding they tried to hit (and I believe did) an island offshore, that is why it is on the screen behind little Rocket Man here. There were nine launches that day. So one can see the differences in vehicles that went up. The “Iskander” ballistic missile- close cousin is on the lower right and bottom.

Planet Labs also caught the area of the launch almost immediately afterward, from satellite high above DPRK. Interesting rocket plume left behind. Smile. On Candid Camera! (Here. Cannot link)

Un could have been Mad Magazine’s poster child, “What, me worry?” He can only be trusted to do what he wants no matter what he says. The only time he’s not lying is when he tells you he is.

The 9K720
Iskander NATO reporting name SS-26 Stone) is a mobile short-range ballistic missile system produced and deployed by the Russian Federation.
The missile systems are to replace the obsolete OTR-21 Tochka systems, still in use by the Russian armed forces, by 2020.
Russian version can launch a pair of 'projectiles" at a time.
Also - The SS-26 Iskander is a short-range, road-mobile, solid-fueled ballistic missile system. Development began in the Soviet Union during the early 1970s as replacement for the Scud B. The Iskander program was accelerated when the OTR-23 was banned by the 1987 INF treaty, resulting in a lack of a modern theater missile system. The Iskander has earned the nickname of the Son of Scud.

The Asahi Shimbun is considered a rather left-leaning newspaper. Probably required reading for the never Trumper community over there.
