Phone watches weren't first prophesied by this 80s movie. Been around in Sci Fi & comic strips long before that. Dick Tracy in the 50s, maybe the 40s had them. They started out as wrist radios and went to wrist TVs by the time I first started following the funnies in 1960.

Very true. Been a long time since “Diet Smith”(?) for me.
Perhaps that’s where they got the idea?
Nonetheless, it’s interesting (at least to me) that they’ve arrived.
