"Ideas have consequences." - Weaver.

America, under what Madison called a "benign" government influence, became a place of individual freedom, creativity, productivity, and plenty--enough to share with the world.

Other places, under the spell of these ideas current ideas of "socialism" and Utopia, have come and gone, or, if they exist, they are miserable places where tyrannical clowns squelch creativity among the citizens, destroy productivity, produce poverty and gloom, and look to other countries to sustain their people, while the leaders soak up all that the citizens produce.

Yet, in America, the beneficiaries of the Founders' system of free people and limited government prattle on and on about how they're going to "fight" for the little people whose votes they covet!

Enough already!

An American businessman, without the support of the "political elite" of 2016, captured the attention of "the people" whom Thomas Jefferson believed to be the real arbiters of what would be right for America.

"I am not among those who fear the people. They...are our dependence for continued freedom. And to preserve their independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debts, as that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our callings and our creeds...our people...must come to labor sixteen hours in the twenty-four, give the earnings of fifteen of these to the government for their debts and daily expenses; and the sixteenth being insufficient to afford us bread, we must live, as they (the British) now do, on oatmeal and potatoes; have no time to think, no means of calling the mismanagers to account; but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers....This example reads to us the salutary lesson that private fortunes are destroyed by public, as well as by private extravagance. And this is the tendency of all human governments. A departure from the principle in one instance, becomes a precedent for a second; that second for a third; and so on, till the bulk of society is reduced to be mere automatons of misery, to have no sensibilities left but for sinning and suffering. Then begins, indeed, the 'bellum omnium in omnia,' which some philosophers...have mistaken for the natural, instead of the abusive, state of man. And the fore-horse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that, and in its train wretchedness and oppression." - Thomas Jefferson

The democrats, deep state, MSM, union members, illegal aliens, welfare recipients, and the education employees in the nation, some of which overlap there.

Trump +15 on the economy, +4 on keeping promises.

Some of our own concern troll types are indicative of the +4 on keeping promises....

I suspect that Trump's overall approval rating of 43% would be substantially improved if the survey were focused on the battleground states which he carried in 2016. I suspect he is much closer to 50%, perhaps even north of 50% in those states.

As to the issue of immigration, I expect he is very deep in the hole in the blue states on this issue but the numbers might tend to reverse the redder the state. Likewise but perhaps less so, the issue of healthcare.

The president has a positive case to make concerning improvement in the economy and I think he has a new good negative case to make that immigration threatens those advances especially among blue-collar workers, African-Americans and Hispanics and entry-level workers. To the degree that he can cut into African-American voters even by 10%, keeping them and Hillary Clinton levels, he can carry the battleground states.

Finally, the big danger comes from white educated suburban women and they must be courted and seduced with the blandishments that speak to them. He had them in 2016, we lost them in 2018, most of it is a matter of tone rather than substance, that part is up to Trump. The problem is, this time we will not have Hillary Clinton to run against and that might have spelled the difference in 2018.

They should impeach Judge Crater. He disappeared decades ago. As for Trump, I’d vote for him twice in 2020 if it were legal.

Hate to throw cold water, but here’s the historical graph for UK, France and the US. Obummer can claim credit for low unemployment trend, started under him.

Hate to throw cold water on your comment, but I don’t give Obama credit for anything positive. Any economic improvements under Obama occurred in spite of him.

Are you suggesting what we see in the economy today, right now, we should be giving Obama credit for, for what he did years ago?

I am telling you what the Dems, including Obama, will claim. I give them credit for nothing. But the graph that I posted gives them the opportunity to make that claim.

I get it, I understand. But these are also the same people who claimed reckless chain immigration and as well as millions entering the country illegally was beneficial for our country.

Btw, the Obama as well as the Bush years were not good for me personally. The Trump era has been a whole different story and not just for me, but my extended family as well. And again, I’m speaking from a personal perspective. And I certainly do not need charts and graphs to realize it.

Take care.

What concerns me is anticipating what sort of BS they’re going to pitch, and finding a rebuttal that will get wide circulation. Not that anyone listens to me, but just in case anyone in the Trump campaign or the RNC is.
