The story in the NYT was completely dishonest and obviously leaked by FBI insiders.

Is anyone going to jail for it?

Well, of course this is a teaser, they also infiltrated his Appointments, Staff, and Cabinet. Why do you think so many ending up leaving.

Why did the Times run the story?

It completely undermines the narrative.

Shut the FBI down. Now.

It has been too thoroughly compromised and corrupted to continue to serve as an effective law enforcement agency.

Millions of us are going to refuse to talk to them which will only compound that fact.

Read the suggested pages of Papadopoulos’ testimony (start at page 101). The ham handed way the FBI went about setting this guy up would make the NKVD proud. In America, Incredible!

The evolving narrative:

1. It is outrageous to claim that we were "spying" on the Trump campaign.

2. What we were doing was not "spying," it was "due diligence."

3. We were spying, and we had a good reason to!!!

Where is that fat a$$ criminal Stefan Halper?
It would not surprise me if he dies of a “heart attack”
very soon. You know, old age... etc.

Find them, jail them. First, fire the leakers.

NYT: Weeks before Mr. Papadopoulos met with Ms. Turk and Mr. Halper, the F.B.I. had opened its investigation into the Russia effort — based largely on information that Mr. Papadopoulos had relayed to an Australian diplomat about a Russian offer to help the Trump campaign by releasing thousands of hacked Democratic emails.

The F.B.I. received the information from the Australian government on July 26, 2016, the special counsel’s report said, and the bureau code-named its investigation Crossfire Hurricane.

Note weasel word "largely." As others have observed, the code name "Crossfire Hurricane" is probably something Lisa and Peter came up with from the Whoopi Goldberg movie Jumpin Jack Flash about a British secret agent outwitting the KGB (i.e., Christopher Steele).

Mr. Halper continued to work with the F.B.I. and later met with Mr. Page repeatedly in the Washington area. The two had coincidentally run into each other in July as well at Cambridge, according to people familiar with the episode.

Oh, just a coincidence! Well my!

I'm guessing the FBI and CIA will ultimately claim Page's invitation to Cambridge and Halper's encounter with Page there were a British op they knew nothing of.

But they are going to have put a firewall around Mifsud.

Or maybe the body of a depressed and suicidal Mifsud will be found in Fort Marcy Park.

In other words:

"We did stuff that probably looks bad to 'ordinary' Americans, but we did these things in the best interest of the country, and we did them as legally as possible.

Trust us."

Uh, no.

More people to prosecute for leaking :-)

They are giving more ammo to Trump.

".... trying to get out ahead of internal investigations, ..."

Translation: Once it's guaranteed that the jig is up and investigations & indictments will be happening, engage the services of the MSM branch of the Deep State - usually the NYT or WaPo - to get the news out ASAP.

This way, when the DOJ announces the investigations & indictments down the road, the MSM will yawn so widely that their lower jaws come unhinged, and say: "Old news! Old, old, old, *OLD* news! Why, we covered that months ago. Why are you bringing it up again? We have better things to do. Go away. You're annoying us"

The NYT has been sitting on this for 2 years.

And now they release it because it diverts attention from the real spies. This lady was a bit player I suspect.

Japan is a tribe:

If there’s a perception of NO law —like right after a yuge Tsunami/nuke accident— things coast along okay.

See, even though they’re TERMED “law abiding”, the truth is Japanese people are NOT. What is actually happening is they’re following cultural NORMS, tribal norms they have been taught in a thousand different ways.

EVERYONE in Japan shares a background with nuuuumerous cultural touchstones, way, waaaaay more than the USA. What emerges absolutely APPEARS law-abiding, but it’s not that by design.

The multi-hued background of Americans doesn’t mean we have the same need for the law as Japan:

It means we have way, waaaaaaaay sharper need for it than Japan— no “norms” for us, that sh*t needs to be written down laser-sharp, in black and white. We need all those laws and PERFECT adherence at ALL levels.

Otherwise there will be TOTAL pandemonium, as we see in most American break-downs in order —we don’t have all those other things keeping us together like that Japanese, and we have muuuuch less now.

So if everyone actively SEES that there are two (or more) different versions of the law depending on who they are, like now, do you know what will happen..?

It will be much, much worse than the riots of South Central LA and it will be allll over the place.

IF the United States had any privacy in these matters then maybe we could carry out the mother of all perp-walks, trials, guilty verdicts and executions, away from the prying eyes and ears of our neighbors.
