Clinton Projection Syndrome
Townhall.com ^ | May 2, 2019 | Victor Davis Hanson

Hillary Clinton recently editorialized about the second volume of special counsel Robert Mueller's massive report. She concluded of the report's assorted testimonies and inside White House gossip concerning President Trump's words and actions that "any other person engaged in those acts would certainly have been indicted."

Psychologists might call her claims "projection." That is the well-known psychological malady of attributing bad behavior to others as a means of exonerating one's own similar, if not often even worse, sins.

After 22 months of investigation and $34 million spent, the Mueller report concluded that there was no Trump-Russia collusion -- the main focus of the investigation -- even though that unfounded allegation dominated print and televised media's speculative headlines for the last two years.

While Mueller's report addressed various allegations of Trump's other roguery, the special counsel did not recommend that the president be indicted for obstruction of justice in what Mueller had just concluded was not a crime of collusion.

What Mueller strangely did do -- and what most federal prosecutors do not do -- was cite all the allegedly questionable behavior of a target who has just been de facto exonerated by not being indicted.

What Mueller did not do was explain that much of the evidence he found useful was clearly a product of unethical and illegal behavior. In the case of the false charge of "collusion," the irony was rich.

With Trump there’s no underlying crime; with Hillary it’s “take your pick”. I’d have settled for nailing her for mishandling (and possibly transferring) classified information.

Russia succeeded in sowing such chaos, thanks ultimately to Clinton, who likely had broken federal laws by using a British national and, by extension, Russian sources to warp an election.

Hillary should feel fear - she cheated, didn't accept the results of an election and has spent two years with her goons trying to railroad an innocent man.

Larry Nichols, the Clintons’ admitted old fixer from back in their Arkansas days, says that Hillary actually used the term “projection” in describing just this as a conscious strategy.

He says she said they should always accuse their opponents of doing whatever they had been up to and so were vulnerable on, that not only would that muddy the waters, for future attempts to throw such mud at them, but because they had been engaged in it themselves they could credibly and with detail describe just how it is done.

Hillary should reach out to Christine Blassey Ford and get treatment. Hillary could replace her memory of the past 2 years with something else.

nailing her for mishandling (and possibly transferring) classified information.

Not just "possibly" transferring. Think Weiner's laptop., but also "selling" to the Chinese and getting people killed.

“For Clinton now to project that the president should be indicted suggests she is worried about her own potential indictment.”

Been saying this all along. She’s getting louder and louder as the walls are closing in on her. She’s pretty transparent.

Those who protect her and the failed coup have a lot to lose, just look at what they all TRIED to do to BARR. The highlights were Cruz’s speech and Barr laughing at the end of grahams speech. Priceless! I only wish the cameras would have captured the looks on their d=faces while this was thrown back at them

She just couldn’t find those Rose Law Firm billing records between the move between Arkansas and the WH.

Lo and behold there were found in a WH closet after the investigation was concluded.

Ain’t HRC something? And the Democrats still can’t figure why they lost the U S Presidency in 2016. Hello?

Trump needs to jail obama and the clintons and the rest for this. If he does not the democrats will destroy this country.
I notice that the corrupt news media never asks them about all the crimes they are involved with.

As always, Mr. Hanson nails it. However, Clinton transmitted the classified documents over an “unsecured” not “insecure” route.

If Mueller wanted the media to react differently, why didn’t he write his own 4 page conclusion with a bread trail of footnotes. Now he has to wait for a leak that may not occur. Did he really think Congress would read his full report? He is an idiot if he thought that Congress or the media would read it.

“Russians likely fed salacious but untrue allegations about Trump to ex-British spy Christopher Steele”

Cody Shearer is Russian? I did not know that!

I very much doubt that the coup plotters were merely dummies who were fooled by those wily Russians. But yes, that will be one of their fall-back defenses if any of them ever get prosecuted.

To the extent any Russians were really involved as sources, as supposedly there was a former Russian intelligence officer who has lived in the US for many years who was a source (per Bruce Ohr’s notes), they were probably used as cut-outs for the CIA/MI6 to feed them allegations and then pass it on to Steele as being from “Russians” as part of the set-up of this hoax.

Just as state actors routinely leave the supposed “fingerprints” of another state on their cyberactivity, intel services of course use assets of other nationalities to obscure and finger point in their other activities as well.

They can't even take time to read the menu at their favorite 5-star restaurant. Their lackeys do it for them, and explain what the soup du jour is that day.
