Because going to trial always works out great.
I believe that a finding of illegal behavior by the prosecutor Kim Fox will nullify her dropping the charges against Smollet. There’s no double jeapordy problem because he was never tried. Which leaves the path open for the civil suit by the brothers and allows a new prosecutor to reopen the case, at least I think that is the case. He deserves jail time along with Kim Fox and the persons that bought her off. IMO
Does America even have an extradition treaty with California?
