Lee and Jackson were great American warriors and worthy adversaries of the Union.
The ilk of Jeff Davis and his VP, Alexander Stephens, were dirty rotten proponents of doubling down on slavery. Scummy politicians. Stephens claimed the higher moral ground by announcing that the Creator had created the black man to be subservient to the white man. Funny how that works.
I bloody well hope so.
Delicious schadenfreude.
The valor is why I keep reading about it.

Jackson was an amazing commander. Lee had a handful of opportunities to destroy the Army of the Potomac and couldn’t commit for one reason or another.
