Today would have been my fathers 98th birthday. Heres the video which was played in 2006 at the banquet after he received the National Medal of Technology from President Bush. https://youtu.be/KNX11KV85nE There are more details at my website. http://www.gpsdeclassified.com/
Kewel...
I didn’t know al gore was 98!
There are several inventions in mankind’s history that have had a significant impact on all of humanity.
Harnessing fire, domesticating animals, gunpowder, etc. I am of the opinion that GPS will ultimately be added to that list.
Wow!
Your dad? cool. GPS is amazing technology.
Tell him Freeper Mr.K wishes him Happy Birthday
oh $h*t - I did not see the ‘would have been’
Sorry
That is awesome. You must be very proud of your father and rightfully so.
You just had your “stand up Chuck” moment. Don’t feel bad, we all make mistakes- just ask my ex-wife!

Here's hoping you get a $0.05 royalty every time someone uses GPS on their phone.
algore invented the internet and was the basis for Love Story with Ali McGraw and Ryan O’Neal. Or something like that. He was also born a poor black child, or maybe that was Steve something.
I remember when it was first commonly used. It was purposely degraded for non military use.
Probably the only thing Clinton did which I approve was making it work properly for all users.
Thanks, I was trying without success to figure out make it clickable. My Dad was joking in 2008 in an interview about the wonders digital cameras. I was interviewed with him here (first 7-8 minutes are announcements). https://www.thespaceshow.com/show/28-sep-2008/broadcast-1025-special-edition
Deepest congratulations and wonderful to know about your father. A precious heritage, though it’s always so sad when a good man is gone.
I criticized the video here.

Steve Martin, maybe? Yes, he can be looney when he chooses to; but that ol’ boy can make a five-string banjo talk and sing. Just ask Earl Scruggs.
Thanks for sharing this. As it is usually difficult to untangle the thread of innovation in a collaborative environment, Winchester’s conclusion seems well justified, and it is good that you give due credit to Parkinson and his team for their contributions.
Hee hee. Yep. Meant Steve Martin. A good friend of mine was John Denver’s kids’ nanny. She went canoeing with Steve and Linda Ronstadt many years ago. Steve was a nice guy. Linda was not so nice at least according to her.
*ping* for later. THANK YOU!!!
As your article points out, there has been controversy from the beginning on who made the best start. Col Gaylord Green responded to your review. And it goes around and around...
