Paying for “someone else’s” needs is charity. It’s a fine thing if people want to give to charitable enterprises, and there can be tax breaks.

Paying for someone elses wants is NOT charity unless it is voluntary. Robbing someone and then giving part of the plunder to the less productive to buy their votes is simply theft not charity
