A follow-up...
The judge is demanding her suspended salary be restored.
She rejected a plea deal for the govt, but her court officer who was also charged is ‘mulling over’ whether to take a plea. I would imagine if he took a plea it would be game over for the judge.
Additionally,
“Joseph has had $127,000 in legal fees paid by taxpayers.”
“As it turns out, the US Attorney handling the case offered Joseph a very generous plea deal in which she could avoid criminal prosecution. Who wouldnt take that, right? She would only be required to admit her behavior was improper and stay out of trouble for a year. She turned it down. Could it be that Judge Joseph wants to be a martyr? She faces up to 20 years in prison but will not likely get the entire 20 years.”

Thanks!
In cases like this, the first one to take a plea deal gets a lighter sentence.
The court officer should definitely take a plea deal.
She probably went along with the crime to keep her job then it all blew up on them.
