That would be true if the diseases you were choosing to risk only affected you. But they don't. The reason for mandatory vaccine policies for people attending public schools or universities is that they pose a risk to those who cannot be vaccinated due to medical reasons. Some people have deficient immune systems. Some people develop diseases that affect their immunity. Infants are too young to be vaccinated and have undeveloped immune systems and thus are at increased risk of serious sequelae or death from these diseases.

In one Supreme Court case in the 1950s (IIRC, could be earlier), a man argued that he had a right not to take the Smallpox vaccine. The court ruled against him because of the public health issue.
