It is super expensive to live in DC and enjoy a nice lifestyle, especially on one government salary. So almost all the wives work. This doubles the chances of a conflict of interest. Yet spousal conflicts fly mostly under the radar. In part, this is because of political correctness - nothing must interfere with advancing women in the workplace.
I do not trust Pense. I think this Pitcock guy and his wife should be raided by fbi swat teams with dogs and armored personnel carriers at 4 AM. this morning and put in solitary confinement until they sign a confession.
