Some verses to keep in mind.... Matthew 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
The most common explanation of these verses by Bible scholars is that the fig tree is Israel and when 'the begins to bud', that is referring to its formation as a nation i.e. May 14,1948. So... the question is, how long exactly is a 'generation'? If 70 years, we are there right now... the 71 year starts in about 3 weeks....But Christ does add that no one knows except the Father.
Honestly, what with the world situation, the muslim invasion, technology, the false prophet aka pope, all coming together in an amazing way, I cannot see how we can last much longer if Jesus doesn’t return.
Because only the Father knows when the point of diminishing returns is reached, in a sense. When not that many more people are going to be saved before the Tribulation. He’s the only one who knows everyone’s heart, and the future of that heart.
Critical mass. Something like that. I’m pretty sure it’s more complex, but maybe that general idea.
