Similar here. 16hrs/ day, 4wks on, 1wk off. 1978. Christmas bonus was fantastic. My supervisor actually fainted at the Christmas party when he got his check. 25k if I remember right. Mine was 9k. Was hard work.

Son worked 7 days a week/ 12hr days for 30 days on, then 30 days off. That was 3years ago- he is now in different field as he got married.
