President Trump on Wednesday warned Mexico after their soldiers reportedly drew guns on U.S. troops at the border last week, while also calling on America's southern neighbor to do more to halt another north-bound migrant caravan.
Mexicos Soldiers recently pulled guns on our National Guard Soldiers, probably as a diversionary tactic for drug smugglers on the Border. Better not happen again! We are now sending ARMED SOLDIERS to the Border. Mexico is not doing nearly enough in apprehending & returning! he tweeted.
The presidents tweets come after several Mexican military personnel reportedly questioned U.S Army soldiers who were on patrol duty near the border in Texas. Mexican soldiers reportedly pointed their weapons at U.S. troops during the encounter. The Mexican soldiers reportedly believed that the U.S. Army soldiers were on Mexican territory.

“You do understand that the Drug Cartels are a wholly owned subsidiary of the CIA and the DEA right?? We created them, we Own them, they are OUR Employees!!!”
My understanding of the situation is that the Democrat party is a wholly own subsidiary of both the Mexican Cartels and the Chinese Communist government.
You make a good point that the problem here runs a lot deeper than a few Mexican soldiers getting out of line.
Spent time in Iraq and the Sinai. We handled those borders as strict lines of engagement. It’s unconscionable that America is clueless in this day and age how to handle the Southern Border. How many “caravans” have invaded us thus far?
When your neighbor’s dog pees in your years, you don’t burn down his house. You give him at least one warning,
Raise your hand if you didn’t figure out immediately that the Mexican military knew exactly where they were and were likely doing recon for a drug cartel.
Makes sense to warn before striking - if they do it again and only get a warning, then the remark is valid....much better to have Mexico start a /war/skirmish than to initiate it ourselves.
National Guard and it makes no sense to have them become dead in the face of overwhelming odds...go down there with a weapon and try to shoot it out with a few...then criticize....Dandy.
Technically you’re right. It just bears too much resemblance to a “red line” warning. And if you think you’re a bigger or more dyed-in-wool Trump supporter than I am, there’s no way.
I agree. But the puffery people here who think they know better what Trump should do than Trump himself are blabbing about Trump being talk and not action.
BS! Until I see 20,00 fully armed with tanks and heavy weaponry this is a joke. Until we call this Mexican bull shi! invasion helpers we are no longer a free America. Trump better learn how to fight an enemy. Something smells like crap here.
And do you not consider National Guard members on duty to be soldiers?
President Trump
Most of the current walls are North of the actual border.

This is the first AND last test of the nuclear artillery shell (Labeled 'Grable' for "gun") - the 280mm AFAP (Artillery Fired Atomic Projectile). The shot was an artillery delivered airburst. The shell traveled 11,000 yards before detonation which occurred 86 feet west, 137 feet south, and 24 feet above the designated burst point. The predicted yield was 14 kt. - May 25, 1953 (15 Kilotons) - The Atomic Cannon. Tested in the Nevada Desert. Of the twenty M65s produced, at least seven survive on display, plus the 240mm prototype. Most no longer have their "prime movers".

Right. But, what about the river? Had it entirely dried up and disappeared amongst the shrubs, without even a trace of the riverbed?
Somewhere I read some US official was saying the riverbed in the area of the incident was flat brushland with the actual border hard to see, but, what about the water itself? Is this some area where the river's course takes multiple complex paths, like the Mississippi does along some parts of the MN / WI border? Or... I also see a few spots, one is near a place called "Red Light Draw", where the river is apparently NOT the border -- likely because of a course change since the border was drawn.
Still, you'd think even half-competent military (Mexico) should be well aware of such locations.
Something else I've not heard stated - granted I've only read a few articles about the incident: Were our people in uniform? Granted that even then, someone might try to impersonate a couple US soldiers, so the Mexican soldiers might be wary. But again, this is leaning over backwards to give the Mexicans the benefit of the doubt. They SHOULD know where they are.
Having said the above, I’ll add that Pres. Trump’s suspicion the Mexican soldiers might have been aiding drug runners by distracting the Americans is QUITE possible. So, it’s likely a matter of either corruption or incompetence on the part of the Mexican soldiers. But, hyperventilating about this being an “invasion” makes FReepers look like nuts. The Mexican soldiers apparently quickly admitted their “mistake”, backed down, and headed back into Mexico. A stern warning from the US is in order (now given), and an apology from Mexico due, which if not weasel-ish, we should then accept, and everybody get back to work as cooperatively as can be managed.
I would not be astonished if some time in the near future, one of our soldiers involved runs into one of their guys, both off duty, at some bar somewhere, and laugh about it over a couple beers.
10 Thousand more invaders are on the march to our border, they get it. I get it. He caved on the shutdown and he is caving on our troops right to protect our border.
Good Thread,,,,
Mostly “Battlefield Buttonology.”
Trump will not let this go.
He is sending US troops to the border.
