I hadn’t heard that about Moore, only questions about him not being a PhD economist. I remember hearing from Kudlow’s show when Moore was looking for, and then found, a new wife, however.
Only two of the current five governors had economics doctorates. The other three are lawyers. A background in banking is helpful, probably expected, but an economics degree isn't a requirement.

Just watched a speech by Milton Friedman where he pointed something out about the Fed. He says as far back as you can look, during good times the Fed explains how their policies have resulted in the good economy. When the economy is tanking, the Fed explains how despite their best efforts they were stymied by other factors.
For extra credit, I would love to know the percentage of PhD economists that become wealthy. I mean...they know ALL about economics, right? A broke economist is like a doctor with diabetes, bad teeth, and a constant sinus infection.
