I remember the beautiful city Catholic churches in Cleveland mostly built buy Italian and German and polish immigrants Then parishioners move to the suburbs and no one wanted to keep paying for the city churches. Then the Church weekly offerings went to paying off abuse claims, so no money to keep the churches.

Just history repeating itself. The Church has had good as well as terrible Popes, the one and only method that the Catholic laity have to protest any prelate is to stop giving $$$$.

Practicing Catholics attend Mass reasonably regularly. But this does not mean we agree with what is going on locally or in Rome.

This is not about THIS pope. This has been going on for the last 50 years and the laity went right along with it no complaints no protests.
The response from Catholics was I’ve got my church in the suburbs. What happens to the Old City churches is not our problem.
No laity protesting the sexual abuse and the money spent for the claims and no protesting even today about how the church through Catholic Charities contributes to the illegals problem through Catholic Social Services... money is fungible. If you in any way donate to the church it will go to the illegals.

Not DONATING money is not the only way to protest... there are some but few and far between Catholics who speak out and demand change but most just go to their Suburban churches weekly and nothing else is done.

My post was not meant at you personally.

I’m more frustrated with the Catholic laity that go to church every week and vote in large numbers for democrats.
