If Pelosi can claim that a glass of water with a “D” on it can win an election in Ocasio-Cortez’s district, why should not the Dems run a human candidate at all?
Dems might win within their party the same kinds of minds in Ocasio-Cortez’s district, or even more, with a simple avatar, a headless horseman named BHOALLA, vetted of course, by Pelosi. No?

Peelousy means “vote for the brand, don’t sweat the details of the candidate’s qualifications”.
Same as when “generic Democrat presidential candidate” is polled alongside DJT for 2020. “x% say they’d vote for D”. Put a name to D and votes disappear.
