It was with much trepidation that I planned a recent trip to Chicago. I was informed by many friends that Chicago is a great city and a great place to visit. However, Chicago is in the news for all the wrong reasons, with daily reports of shootings and violence reaching historically high levels.
The Chicago you experience as a tourist is very different from the city being reported on on a daily basis in the news. Downtown Chicago was crowded with tourists and provided a visitor every impression of being a prosperous, vibrant, and highly livable city.
Visiting the areas around the Loop, the Magnificent Mile, and the neighborhoods located directly north of Downtown, we were impressed by the large numbers of young professional people who have made Chicago their home. For these select young educated elites, Chicago does provide opportunity for a good life in an appealing urban environment. The neighborhoods of choice for these mostly white and Asian-American young people are located on the north side of the city in this most segregated of large cities in our country.
On the other hand, for the poor and many middle-class residents, a combination of high state and local taxes and limited job opportunities for people without the adequate skills and education required for the new services-dominated economy has driven a great number of people to leave Chicago and Illinois for states such as Texas that are judged by many as more attractive places to live, offering the prospect of a better life.
A society begins its decline when it loses confidence and gives up hope. President Obama's true legacy is that he directed a transformation of America that diminished economic opportunity for large segments our country.

Easy answer: THE LATTER DON’T HAVE TO.
Only developed countries have such parasitic populations; in most of the world they’d work - or starve/die from exposure/get eaten by carnivores.

Because Democrats will give them guaranteed income, food, housing, heat assistance, title 19, and a check if they will simply vote Dem once every 2 or 4 years.

I guess the writer missed the 500 blacks who terrorized the so called Miracle Mile he admired so much. They attacked people and vandalized businesses on Wed.
This happens periodically there.
Of course; this demographic is critical to the Dem politicians - natural “nanny-staters”. People who generally will always have someone else deal with their everyday issues (landlords maintain their residences, restaurants prepare their meals, someone else provides transportation...).
In the shorter term, clients for the public education and public housing industries...
We work because it’s the right thing to do. God will reward us when He’s good and ready. Those who are living off the efforts of others are receiving their reward now. It’s like sinning. Your reward is whatever satisfaction it brings at (and for) the moment. Doing the right thing brings a never-ending reward. Choose wisely.
Due to some is the socialist tendency’s and laws ( second amendment for example ) I will never visit Illinois.. And a number of other states...not gonna get my hard earned monies!
I think you would find that those “most people” have a very slim margin over those that don’t. If the dems ever regain power, it will be “most people” don’t work.
Easy answer. There are people who are so lazy that unless faced with either working or dying they will not work. Many people are experts at avoiding work and pose as pastors, charity workers, teachers, police, government workers, and union featherbedders. Not all, but some occupations suffer from very high rates of adverse selection. Other people are just brazen and lie, cheat, or steal. Those people are known as the Democrat Party constituency class and elected officials. Again, not all but more than their share.
Good questions. But we aren’t really allowed to talk about toxic black inner city culture as a cause of some people just not fitting into mainstream society.
Every big city has wealthy upscale areas which this writer talks about in Chicago. And every big city has the bad neighborhoods which are to be avoided.

Because voting laws allow for people who don’t have real estate to vote.
People who are on welfare vote. They have power as a democrat voting bloc. Democrat politicians pay them with our money in exchange for votes
