Reports circulating the Internet said a robot named "Colossus" greatly assisted in Notre Dame's fire rescue efforts. The 1100 pound robot, created by the French company Shark Robotics, used a water cannon to shoot almost 700 gallons through the cathedral's most dangerous fire areas... Paris Fire Brigade commander Jean-Claude Gallet said Colossus "lowered temperatures" in the cathedral and "saved human lives amid the unfolding disaster."

Yeah, but what happens when that sucker becomes self-aware? I saw a movie about that.
If it becomes both self aware and intelligent, it will deploy itself as a water cannon to disperse Dem rioters....
Its going to be a busy robot.
It becomes an arsonist.
Brilliant!!
Western civilization and the modern far east invents such marvels that save lives while the Muslim world lives in squalor and builds crude devices to kill people. But all cultures are equal and diversity is our strength.
Way to go, Collossus!
The Austin, TX news has the fire listed in their entertainment section. Proof once again of their leftist liberalism.
Thermite 3.0 Robotic Fire Fighter - fits in an elevator
Firefighting Drone from Aerones, can lift a 300 pound hose.
Putting 700 gallons of water on that inferno is the equivalent of pissing in the ocean. Yes in theory, any amount of water would lower the temperature but it would be a minuscule amount.
Perhaps the actual number is 700 gallons per minute. Although I they were probably no more accurate on the metric to imperial conversion.
Yes, I thought it sounded like a small amount, too. Possibly something lost in translation. The “big picture” is that it did an amazing job.
Great shots! I hope we have enough of these able to rapidly deploy where they are needed. The drone would seem limited, unless it can hook to a big water source, but great for working at heights and difficult to reach fires. Also like the idea of a stretcher and arm able to pick up a victim.
“ROCKNE: Well, boys ... I haven’t a thing to say. Played a great game...all of you. Great game.
(He tries to smile.) I guess we just can’t expect to win em all. (Rockne pauses and says quietly). I’m going to tell you something I’ve kept to myself for years — None of you ever knew Colossus. It was long before your time. But you know what a tradition he is at Notre Dame...
(There is gentle, faraway look in his eyes as he recalls the boy’s words). And the last thing he said to me — “Rock,” he said - “sometime, when the team is up against it — and the breaks are beating the boys — tell them to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Col.
(Knute’s eyes become misty and his voice is unsteady as he finishes). I don’t know where I’ll be then, Rock”, he said - “but I’ll know about it - and I’ll be happy.”
It will probably go into the enema business...
