Hoyer: 'Impeachment not worthwhile' after seeing Mueller report
The Hill ^ | Apr. 18, 2019 | Zack Budryk

Posted on 04/18/2019 8:25:49 PM PDT by Innovative

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said Thursday that nothing he saw in special counsel Robert Mueller's report would make seeking to impeach President Trump a "worthwhile" effort "at this point."

Hoyer made the remarks to CNN’s Dana Bash following the Justice Department's release of Mueller’s partially redacted findings in his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Maybe the Dems are starting to realize that trying to impeach Trump at this point would just make them look evil and stupid.

I think it is something else. I think they are beginning to understand the relationship of Pandora’s Boxes to Exploding Cigars.

They are trying to play nice now, hoping no shoes will ever drop in return.

They character assassinated Trump and those around him and they are hitting the “Reset” button.

The way I see it there are three factions withing the Democrat caucus:

1. The Crazy Socialists. Not large in numbers but dominating the media message

2. The Impeachers. Nadless, Schitt, et al who are like a dog with a bone and just can’t let it go

3. The Moderates. Some are actually liberals but relative to the above, they are moderates. Many are back-benchers from Trump-won districts who are nervous about re-election and others worry that having won back the majority, it will be squandered and they’ll have no accomplishments to run on.

I think the tension between these three will tear the donkey a new one over the coming months.

Hey Steny, here’s a little bedtime reading for you and your collusion-truthers. From your President:

“My motto is: Always get even. When somebody screws you, screw them back — in spades.”

— Donald J. Trump, Chapter 5, “Revenge,”
Think Big and Kick Ass: In Business and in Life,
Harper Collins Publishing, 2007

Let the revenge begin.

That’s a very apt analysis. I heard on the radio today, I think NPR, that the Dems will pass legislation that will all die in the Senate and collect talking points for 2020. It will come down to how well the media pumps the talking points. They will get their orders, but can they follow them?

What he really said is, "if we do this it will bite us in the ass big time."

"What he really said is, "if we do this it will bite us in the ass big time.""

Or...

"If we do this the next sound we hear is several millions of receivers clicking a round into place and then it is truly 'game over'."

I say we encourage them to try to impeach and thus waste any remaining power they have from their illegitimate seizure of the House this session.

“level of ‘culpability” Is the key to the issue.

Too many attorneys getting this obstruction issue muddled up. Lemmee splain.

Mueller did not find an underlying crime in the collusion/conspiracy allegation.

That means that Trump’s push back, complaints, that is, any effort to derail the investigation must have a motive that is not corrupt.

However, if you are trying to cover up a crime or derail an investigation that discovers a crime....... Then you have obstruction.

The press and all the analysts are not being clear about that.

Now the House can try to vote to impeach for “high crimes and misdemeanors”.

Nadler can’t create a crime. Pelosi isn’t going to waste the House’s time on abstruse legal theories without cooperation from a Federal prosecutor.
