And if there is not such a one willing to run?

Oh give me a break!

Or if the Alabamians *choose* Moore over the other candidates? What then?

The Moore becomes the first Republican to lose back-to-back Senate races in God knows how long.

So you are in the Never-Moore camp. That is your right. But, in my opinion, it is every bit as misguided as being in the Never-Trump camp. I can't give you a break, and based upon the early polling referred to in this article, I don't think the Alabamians will give you a break either. As much as reporters say Alabamians don't like Moore, the conservative ones apparently do, in the voting booth, where it counts. And for good reason. We'll see who they choose this time! I'll be thrilled to see a Kavanaugh'ing of Moore fail a second time ... perhaps as much as you'll be thrilled to see Moore lose a second time. We definitely have different perspectives on this issue.

“There was a lawful way to do that”

Please tell me the lawful way to reverse the gay marriage decision. Also, how to lawfully change the federal court overreach that a local government body can’t display the ten commandments.

“Alabamians.......who have to walk to the bathroom”

Please tell me how Californians get to the bathroom. Walking is about the best way I can think of, except for those rare moments of running.

We’re not going to agree, obviously. All I can say is sometimes you have to do what you think is right despite the consequences and I think that was the case for Moore. Alabamians then reelected him. Like I’ve said before, though, I believe his time has passed and I will not vote for him this time.

So you are in the Never-Moore camp.

Yes, because I'd like to win this seat back.

But, in my opinion, it is every bit as misguided as being in the Never-Trump camp.

The major difference being that Moore is an idiot loser while Trump is not.

As much as reporters say Alabamians don't like Moore, the conservative ones apparently do, in the voting booth, where it counts.

Apparently not enough.

We definitely have different perspectives on this issue.

We do indeed.

Still waiting for an answer on that one.

No you are not. I've said in numerous discussions on the Civil War that I do not live, nor have I ever lived in any of the Confederate States.

But I have just as much right to attempt to influence the citizens of Alabama as anyone else, and furthermore I have just as much right to point out how this man was backstabbed by the vile behavior of his fellow Republicans, and those from more than just the state of Alabama.

Also, I note that you've had time to digest my point about Pennsylvania doing it in exactly the correct manner, while Massachusetts went the "penumbra" route.

Is your silence on the point telling me you have no answer?

"On every question of construction, let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed."

Thanks Tom. I quite agree.

And it’s good that you didn’t because the sickos that prey upon young girls not only do it out of a mental deficiency to connect with others of their own age but also dor the potential benefits of the daughter’s family

“I believe his time has passed and I will not vote for him this time.”

Good, we can disagree about some things, but we should both agree that everyone we elect needs to be counted on to support the Trump Agenda. Right or wrong, Moore would bring problems to the Senate that needn’t be there at this juncture.
And FWIW, I understand how you feel about the issues that Moore “raised,” I feel the same way. I just don’t think his approach was proper. Gay Marriage, Abortion, Thje Ten Commandments, are all issues that will have to wait until the majority once again sees “the light.” Right now, America isn’t going to go the “right direction” on these issues, sad to say.

“You’re seriously going to invoke the Bible as the justification and basis for Moore’s admitted activities? A time in which a woman not to have been found a virgin on her wedding day was punishable by death?”

I could easily answer such silly attacks, but I don’t waste my time doing so unless the person with whom I’m conversing actually accepts the authority of the Bible in the first place. Bottom line is, what you claim is NOT what the Bible teaches.

“His actions during the late 70s when the age of consent was 16 (yes a court of law determined a child is not mentally capable of consenting until the age of 16) are tantamount to yes pedophilia.”

First, courts of law do not determine what pedophilia is. Second, pedophilia is a term from psychology which is generally directed at adults who are sexually attracted to prepubescent children. There are other labels for attraction to 16-year-olds used in psychology, but they are simply labels, and not part of the legal code.

What Roy Moore is known to have done forty to fifty years ago was neither illegal, socially unacceptable at the time, nor generally against what the Bible teaches.

The political leadership of both parties traffic in children for sex and torture (for the sexual gratification of the worst kinds of sexual perverts and also for the extraction of adrenochrome for drug abuse), and Satanic blood rituals as a means to obtain power, wealth, and prestige. Planned Parenthood is up to its eyeballs in this global criminal enterprise. So is the homosexual lobby. And these are the ones who attack people like Roy Moore, Mike Pence, Ted Cruz, Brett Kavanaugh, and Clarence Thomas the most viciously.

So, when I see people on this forum using the same arguments as Planned Parenthood, I become very suspicious. Either such a person is extremely naive, gullible, and ignorant; or worse—he or she is playing for the other team.

“During the 30s, 40s, 50s and even before these most certainly led to mental and physically abusive ‘arrangements.’”

As opposed to the wonderful “arrangement” that those who use your arguments have achieved in society with the “consenting adults” philosophy: Men who troll 18-year-old girls on the streets to entice them with money or drugs for sex and to be “porn stars”.

Women are treated far, far worse today than these supposedly abusive marriages you propose were so common.

For the record, the Bible calls marriage a covenant, which means the consent / willingness of both parties, without coercion or some other external enticements is mandatory. It is always to be in the self-interest of BOTH parties. “Arranged marriage” is long confused with “forced marriage” which is FAKE marriage.

There are three marriages in the Bible that were “arranged” by God: Adam and Eve, Christ and the Church, and Isaac and Rebecca. To my knowledge no ages at marriage are explicitly given for any marriage in the Bible, although there is quite a bit of extra-biblical support for certain cases. In the case of Rebecca, she was almost certainly a young teenager while Isaac was many years older. Still, Rebecca was NOT forced to marry him:

Genesis 24:57-58
So they said, “We will call the young woman and ask her personally.” Then they called Rebekah and said to her, “Will you go with this man?” And she said, “I will go.”

“Furthermore, he was said to not only date 16 year old women but even as young as 14 and 15.”

Said by whom? And how old was he when he dated them? These are claims made by people who also think it is a crime to disagree with them about abortion or homosexual “marriage”. Why would a person on a conservative forum believe them? further, why would a person spread propaganda from Planned Parenthood and the Homosexual lobby on a conservative forum?

Moore took a polygraph and denied even knowing the women who made the claims about him dating them when they were legally underage (and he was not). He denies the allegations of sexual assault the three women made. For some reason none of them wanted to take a polygraph.

Is a 16-year-old boy dating a 15-year-old girl a pedophile? Are fourth-graders pedophiles when they exchange notes saying the a classmate is “cute”? Again, there is a BIG difference between dating and sex. Ten-year-olds may begin to have an interest in the opposite sex, but they are obviously not ready for sex and marriage. Those in their mid-teens are generally not ready these days either for cultural, sociological, and economic reasons. But the reasons are not biological because, whether a person attributes it to God or evolution, it is unquestionable that teenagers have raging hormones and are fully capable of reproducing. So, there is a lot more at work here than merely a simple concept like “consent”. It is power dynamics.

“His public rebuttal to these accusations was PATHETIC, insincere and he might as well had said yes I did because, ‘not generally no’ is an admittance to the fact that you did ‘date’ teenage girls.”

This is about the only reasonable argument you’ve put forward. But the context of what Moore was asked was not sexual. He is certainly guilty of the lack of political savvy in this case. He allowed himself to get tripped up, and on Sean Hannity, surprisingly. But, President Trump has said some similarly awkward things, and we cut him slack. If you are not aware just Google what he said about Jeffrey Epstein liking his girls young, and laughing about it. Or see what he said about his own daughter being the kind of girl he’d date if she wasn’t his own daughter. Do these things make him a pedophile? Of course not. Were they the best things to say politically? No.

“You may dislike the laws as it pertains to ‘consent’ but they are there to protect young kids from sickos such as Roy Moore who think it is ok as a 31 year old adult to troll around High School football games looking for his next potential obedient wife.”

Do you do PR for Planned Parenthood? Jezebel Magazine? Sounds like it.

I’ve seen how feminist men use and abuse women. I’ve seen far too much to get conned into buying into this preposterous argument against traditional Christian morality. Those who make such arguments try to prop up their own self-evaluation of their own morality by attacking straw men. Just because a person does not diddle children does not make him or her a moral person or good person. Just because person does not kidnap and rape does not make someone a saint. Just because a person never robbed a bank does not make them an upstanding citizen. Likewise, just because a person in his or her thirties is already sexually experienced and in a relationship with someone near his or her own age, does not make him or her a paragon of virtue. In other words, its easy to feign moral outrage over something inconsequential when a person can easily follow a moral code that costs him or her nothing personally. Yet, Moore, who according to you, is such a “sicko” and “pedophile” that he MARRIED a woman who has been his devoted wife for decades.

I thought pedophiles were incapable of rehabilitation. But oddly, this one has been happily married, and they raised four children together. He’s managed to go for decades under harsh scrutiny in which none of his supposed pedophile tendencies surfaced.

Roy Moore married his current, one-and-only, lifelong spouse when he was 37 and she was 23. They first met when he was 29 and she was 15, but they didn’t date then. He admitted to dating young girls, but not having a sexual relationship with any of them. And nothing was illegal, Biblically immoral, or even socially unacceptable at the time generally (except to abortion-promoting feminists, as there was no homosexual lobby then).

If Roy Moore today was a thirty-year-old dating a sixteen, seventeen, or even eighteen-year old—even if it was completely legal—he would not be a good political candidate. But to dredge up something from many decades ago that has never even been brought up by any of the supposed victims until it was politically expedient is dishonest. His lifelong track record disproves these allegations.

“I do believe there is something in there pertaining to following, ‘Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.’”

This comment comes across as a typical leftwing, anti-Christian attempt to take the Bible out of context. Didn’t you just, in the very same post, argue how wrong it was for governmental authority to punish people for not being virgins at marriage (even though this is completely out of context)?

The Devil quotes the Bible. He does not want to obey it or follow it, but he does try to twist it to suit his purposes.

The only ones who have alleged any knowledge of Roy Moore breaking any laws are the abortionists and homosexuals who also, by the way, are the biggest group of actual pedophiles on the planet.

Since you are trying to argue from the Bible, do you believe the Bible? Do you try to follow what it teaches?

Do you think Paul meant to submit to governmental authorities when they encroach upon areas over which they have no jurisdiction?

Do you think he would have obeyed if they demanded he call a man “she” and “her”?

Do you think it applies when government says you do not have the right to defend yourself? Read your Bible? Pray? Tell others about your faith?

Let me share a couple of related verses:

Acts 5:29
But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men.”

1 Timothy 4:2-3
Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

We live in a day when marriage itself is being redefined. The left wants to destroy the family by destroying marriage. “Consenting adults” is just the early embodiment of this philosophy masquerading as feminism. It “progressed” through the sexual revolution of the 60s, the abortion legalization movement that followed, and then the homosexual agenda. Now they attack all conservative Christian men, holding up these false virtues as the standards by which they must be judged. No thanks. Don’t want it or need it.

Whether Roy Moore is the best candidate or not, a conservative forum is not where he should be being viciously attacked. You have called him a pedophile without evidence. If justice is served in this life, you will be falsely accused of pedophilia and have your name dragged through the mud. When that happens, don’t whine and complain about how unfair it is; just thank God that He is just and and is teaching you a moral lesson about slander and bearing false witness against your neighbor. Alrighty?

>>>Moore won that race, and he won it huge. The establishment RINOs did not want him, so they made sure the election was rigged. Do you remember that the paper record was destroyed within hours of the election so there could be no recount?

No. The paper ballots were retained as required by Alabama law. The court decision said that the electronic image of those ballots did not have to be retained. If needed, a recount could have been completed.
