I place a lot of blame on Bush 43 who went to the extreme by stressing to the country that Islam is good, basically. It isn’t. It never was. If he hadn’t been so wishy-washy, we could be in a far better place now. The period of time after 9/11 was a golden opportunity, and he blew it.
The worst part about that, is that I think Bush genuinely believes it. That is distressing.
I think President Trump knows exactly the evil that Islam is and he is a doer rather than a talker. After he wins the 2020 election it would not surprise me if he takes on this scourge head on.
