Israel’s electorate has never been as conservative as it is now, in the entire history of the State of Israel since 1948. The right-wing parties have 65 seats, and another 6% of the electorate voted for conservative parties that didn’t meet the threshold that they had to pass in order to get seats in the Knesset. They would have added another 4 conservative seats to the Knesset.
By contrast, the Blue White Party — which is leftist but pretended to be tough on defense and centrist — together with the now-collapsed Meretz and the Labor Party, even with the Arab parties, all of which are anti-Zionist, didn’t come close to a majority.
