Yep. The cathedral's structure is pretty difficult to damage - unless you can get up to the roof - where all the flammable bits are located. Perfect opportunity.
After 9/11 survivors and onlookers/residents of NYC and especially first responder survivors... got ill from the smoke.
There is a boat load of lead in the ceiling and the stained glass of the Notre Dame. Lead and intense fire is bad news. I have used a mask when melting lead for a keel because the smoke is toxic. Lead in higher urban airborne percentages -from car exhausts before unleaded fuel was marketed- can cause loss of intellect (over long term) which is why my schooling next to a 1970s major traffic route was a small tragedy.
Today in Paris just before Easter... are we in a pre-war era here?
