The Fair Tax would completely eliminate payroll taxes and individual and corporate income taxes…The IRS is abolished, replaced by a tax collection mechanism every single merchant is already familiar with.

As much as I hate the IRS and the income tax I can’t agree with the Fair

I can not consent to involuntary servitude, even to the government.

Forcing merchants as a condition to their business license to collect taxes for the Federal government is in my mind slavery and making them involuntary accomplices to theft.

I know of more than one merchant that fell behind on submitting his check to the state for sales taxes. One went to jail the other took his own life.

The IRS auditors are evil and so are the State Sales tax auditors.

I would much prefer a flat tax that requires the individual to write a monthly check to the government.

This would keep it at the forefront of each individual’s mind the cost of government.

It would also keep it in the minds of every Politian’s that the people of this country are constantly being reminded of the cost of their vote buying.

Congress has the power to levy taxation and the “necessary and proper” power needed to collect that taxation.

The Founding Fathers viewed direct taxation of individuals as too difficult. Many people in 1787 didn’t have a dollar to their name.

Even modern governments like to run scams, such as forcing people to buy health insurance and then taxing the doctors dearly. Why Mr. Griffin, your taxes are low! I’m not fooled. Another scam is lowering interest rates and forcing people to entrust Wall Street fatcats with their life savings.
