President Trump said Monday he will award pro golf great Tiger Woods with the Presidential Medal of Freedom on the heels of his comeback win at last weekend’s Masters Tournament.
“Spoke to @TigerWoods to congratulate him on the great victory he had in yesterday’s @TheMasters, & to inform him that because of his incredible Success & Comeback in Sports (Golf) and, more importantly, LIFE, I will be presenting him with the PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM!” Trump tweeted.
Woods’ victory on Sunday gave him his 15th major championship win and his fifth Masters title.
This is BS, Mr. President. What did Tiger Woods do to deserve this medal? This is something Clinton or POSObama would do.
However, I'm truly happy to see him overcome his demons and rise from the ashes. It's a great story. Unlike John Daly who was in Augusta but not at the Masters. Daly was at a Hooters parking lot signing swag for his fans. God bless him.
Who knows...from reports, he has become a great Dad to his kids and learned a hell of a lesson...there is such a thing as redemption...heck even Demi seems to genuinely like Bruce these days.

Guy came back from what should have been career ending injury and at 43 won the Super Bowl of Golf.
I look at past winners and go, “Yeah, absolutely.”
Agreed. This cheapens the Medal of Freedom. Not as bad as Obama and the Nobel Peach Prize but smells faintly similar.

I agree. Look at "child detention" at the border. Look at catch and release on steroids. Look at thinking about getting our kids bloodied in a Venezuelan civil war. Nothing Obama and Clinton would not have done. This administration has fallen in love with well-rutted tire tracks. At least POTUS is now being glaringly consistent. Have to give him that.

I’m not saying that Trump should not recognize Tiger’s accomplishment. Trump can always write a letter on white house stationary to do that.
I just think it would have been better to wait until Tiger won a 6th master. That’s all.
That psycho ex-wife of his is lucky she’s not sitting in prison. Can anybody imagine what would happen to a man who took a golf iron and smashed his wife in the face with it? You’d be lucky to get off with an attempted homicide charge.
Where is the media outrage? I expect they will say POTUS is just being patronizing of an African American athlete. Or just because it is golf.
I have always been mostly neutral on Tiger Woods, but I do think this was an AMAZING accomplishment, which no doubt took more work than most of us will understand.
Very deserving, as Tiger is a symbol of turning your life around after complete humiliation, walking through the fire of it publicly and coming out a better man on the other side. Role model material.
