I agree, and the meaning is not only for Catholics but for all of Christianity and Western Civilization.

Yes. I’m not Catholic, but I find this heart-breaking. How could the world lose something like this?

The world and the earth ages...it was an 800 year old building...wouldn’t take much for a fire to move very fast in that tinder box.

It is heartbreaking.

We’re physical and spiritual creatures, so physical reminders of the spiritual remind us of refocusing from daily worries to our spiritual relationship with our Creator.

How many people through the centuries have, because of this cathedral, been reminded to lift their heart and minds to God?

It’s a horrible loss for the world.
