The "Full House" actress, who is free on bail, waived her right to appear in a Boston courthouse and allowed her lawyer to enter a not guilty plea to all charges

Lori Loughlin pleaded not guilty on Monday to federal charges that she allegedly laundered money in a complex scheme to buy her daughters' way into college.

The "Full House" actress, who is free on bail, waived her right to appear in a Boston courthouse and allowed her lawyer to enter a not guilty plea to all charges, according to papers filed on Monday by defense attorney William Trach.

Media already twisting itself into a pretzel. The federal charges are that she laundered money. “Allege” is what the charges do. It does not require restating.

Agreed. And watching them trot out a defense (other than “everything that guy just said is B.S.”) should be amusing.

While I understand your context of ‘not guilty’, they most probably are guilty, I still wonder why Loughlin has been made the figurehead and so attacked for something that that has been going on for many decades and realistically she and her husband are small fish compared to the politicians and much more politically connected transgressors involved.

In today's weird world, this “not guilty” is a scam.

I am willing to bet she has a reality show signed as America loves a celebrity train wreck. Millions will be made.

That if she’s found innocent. If convicted, it’s straight to Lifetime.

I’m wondering if the scammers approached her and told her they could get the girls into college through a “loophole” in the athletic scholarship program. It all depends on who initiated the whole conversation about this athletic scholarship.

I don’t think she paid for cheating on the tests. (To the best of my knowledge.)

I can see a scammer knowing she & her husband have money, approaching her and convincing her this was perfectly legal (maybe even supported by a letter from any attorney) but it would cost a lot. just a thought. This is going to get interesting.

Oh, and if she ends up with a not-guilty determination, look out Hallmark - they gave her the boot prematurely. I always wondered why they were so quick to dump her and write her out of everything, I bet she has a lawsuit coming. We are innocent until proven guilty still, aren’t we? Oh wait ...

Anyone remember the old shampoo commercial tagline: Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful? To some extent, Aunt Becky is victim of that mentality. Not to say that she doesn’t deserve to be in trouble for what she allegedly did, but human nature is such that a lot of folks enjoy seeing a really pretty woman taken down a few notches.

No, it’s smart to plead not guilty, if you have no other options. There is a lot that can go wrong in a trial that could end up with the case dismissed or the jury won’t by the prosecution case and will pronounce you not guilty.

The worst that will happen is that you’ll get the max as prescribed by law, which you would get anyway if you had pled guilty right away.

That was her possible sentence had she pled guilty from the start, However, thanks to following poor counsel, herself or from a friend, the state is going to make an example of her in order to get quick guilty pleas from others.

She could be looking at near the high-end of her lawful penalty.

You don’t have to wonder, because you nearly have the answer on your own.

Small fish always take the fall for the higher-ups so that it can still look like justice was done and the higher-ups get away with it.

At one point, the media said this had been going on for years. My question is, if that is true why are there only 39 parents? Shouldn’t there be more parents charged? The guy scammed 25 Million.

My bet: 6 months in week-end jail. Big fine 5 years probation

TLS, I'll take that bet. She's going to do significant time. I say she gets 5 years or more. She didn't take the plea deal, and then they added charges. Heck, the plea takes are going to get 6 months or more in jail time.

She's going away for at least 5 years. It'll send a message to others, that will obviously plead out so they don't get the larger sentence.

I'd be that someone with money can buy protection in prison.

Set up your posse with commissary cash and it's all good.
