One of the mistakes of Trump’s first few months in office was to be magnanimous in victory and not follow through on investigating and prosecuting Clinton corruption. “Lock her up” was, in a sense, an element of the platform on which he was elected, but he didn’t follow through. I understand the desire to be gracious in victory and all that. But the Clintons and their allies have been anything but gracious in defeat. Being Mr Nice Guy to them in early 2017 was neither appreciated nor rewarded.

I daresay that most of us here on FR probably also feel this way, but there may be more than magnanimity at work. He may have begun to realize that it could have damaged him, politically, especially that early in his term when there were so many yet-to-be-uncovered Deep State operatives, Never-Trumpers and holdovers from Obama's administration.

With 'Chicken Jeff' hiding under the covers, and the comedy team of Comey & Rosenstein running the DOJ, among others, I think they would have worked harder at removing DJT than honestly investigating the Clinton crime family.

‘’’’’’’’’’
That would have looked like a dictator squashing the opposition, and taking control of the government. It would have sparked cw2. I had a couple lib family members out protesting after the election... After a couple of weeks I asked why they did that.... And they were just blowing off steam... The msm had incited it.
Now we have hrc / left asking, begging for the report that they think will be bad for Trump but will incriminate them in publics eye.
I’m hoping for a public hanging or firing squad...

I once thought the same, but now looking back at the incredibly complex snares the evil forces had strewn around him, I disagree. Had Trump done ANYTHING like you describe, he'd be out of office, and probably in prison. He played this attempted coup just perfectly, with miraculous patience and guile. What an unbelievably canny and savvy operator is Trump. Apex predator indeed.
