LAS CRUCES, N.M. Border Patrol agents dropped off asylum-seeking migrants in New Mexicos second most populous city for the second day in a row Saturday, prompting Las Cruces city officials to appeal for donations of food and personal hygiene items and a state medical program to seek volunteers to provide health assessments of migrants.
The migrants were being temporarily housed at a homeless shelter in Las Cruces, a city recreation center and a campus of social service agencies, city officials said in a statement.
The statement said 83 migrants arrived Saturday, following about 95 who were dropped off by the Border Patrol on Friday at the Gospel Rescue Mission homeless shelter and the Community of Hope campus.
The Las Cruces Sun-News reported Las Cruces churches for months have been providing temporary shelter to migrants released from Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention but that Friday was the first time that the Border Patrol vans dropped off migrants at the homeless shelter.
City spokesman Udell Vigil said Saturday that migrants could be arriving for the next several days.
Las Cruces is not a sanctuary city that rebuffs federal officials carrying out deportation orders.

A mere 10 hour bus ride north is Salt Lake City, someplace with the will and means to support them. Or, just make SLC a transport hub and temporary detention center for point further north and west.
Like Seattle, Portland, San Francisco (and all the west bay), Oakland (and all the east bay).
But dumping them in Las Cruces is a crime against justice.
Hear that Mitt?
Mike Lee, are you listening too?
Hey, New Mexicans. Keep putting Democrats into power. You know, the ones that oppose Pres. Trump on illegal immigration and what do you expect.
But our new governor insists there are no problems at our border, that there is no crisis. She would rather serve her Democrat party masters then do her job and protect the citizens of New Mexico. Just review of most of her cabinet picks shows her loyalty.
They voted for Hillary!
Screw ‘em, Las Cruces and Dona Ana county pulled some absentee ballot hijinks to elect a Dim to the 2nd district.
If the state government had to pay their medical bills she’d be begging for a closed border. The bill for one night at our hospital was over 100K and locals can’t even get onto the emergency room.
If we lose Texas, it’s OVER.
Last Prez election Texas was close and with Cruz it was close —Texas used to be a total LOCK.
I think Deep State will want them in Texas.
I just checked their 2018 election results, and Dona Ana County had a “blue wave”. Perhaps the new “immigrants” can contact the democrat party there in Las Cruces for help: Mailing Address: P.O. Box 16144, Las Cruces, NM 88004-6144, or by phone at: (575)650-4648. That would be my suggestion.
How about donations of ammunition and high capacity magazines?
Someone asked our church to house them, we asked if they were flipping nuts. Our responsibility is to our members and they don’t need to be exposed to the disease and violence.
They also pulled a lot of shenanigans to get Torre-Small elected.
Oh, I forgot, Greyhound has told them not to bring them to them.
But dumping them in Las Cruces is a crime against justice.
No, it isnt. The City Council in Las Cruces asked for this:

Now theyre getting a bellyful. And they deserve it.

Denver needs some as does Boulder, seeing that Boulder is the Imperial Capitol of Colofornia.
“If we lose Texas, its OVER.”
I don’t see the Republicans trying to solve the problem. It’s almost as if they’re bought off.
I was gonna say, maybe I could look up my liberal aunt and her husband in New Mexico.
That might make a good place to drop them off. They believe that truth comes from the liberal media.
She also prohibited NM National Guard from serving along border.
Las Cruces is not a sanctuary city that rebuffs federal officials carrying out deportation orders.
Incorrect. See my post above with a link documenting that Las Cruces is indeed a sanctuary city.
So theyre getting what they voted for. And theyre getting it good and hard.
