The website Techcrunch has learned that hackers exploited a breach on several FBI-affiliated websites to acccess files containing the personal information of thousands of federal agents and police officers.
The hackers breached three sites associated with the FBI National Academy Association, a coalition of different chapters across the U.S. promoting federal and law enforcement leadership and training located at the FBI training academy in Quantico, VA. The hackers exploited flaws on at least three of the organizations chapter websites which were not naming and downloaded the contents of each web server.
The hackers then put the data up for download on their own website, which were also not naming nor linking to given the sensitivity of the data.
The spreadsheets contained about 4,000 unique records after duplicates were removed, including member names, a mix of personal and government email addresses, job titles, phone numbers and their postal addresses. The FBINAA could not be reached for comment outside of business hours. If we hear back, well update.
The motive? Apparently, the hackers are going to try to sell the information.

The hacker claimed to have over a million data [sic] on employees across several U.S. federal agencies and public service organizations.
Its not uncommon for data to be stolen and sold in hacker forums and in marketplaces on the dark web, but the hackers said they would offer the data for free to show that they had something interesting.
Obviously it was the Russians colluding with POTUS. /s
I’ve always wondered where the Ruby Ridge sniper went when he left the FBI. Anyone know?
Years ago numerous Sheriffs Departments got hacked. The “snitch list” of some got released. Not good...
Retired to Chicago. Lon Horuchi.
Sounds like someone did something again.
Are we supposed to care?
I don’t blame the local FBI agent doing necessary crime work, but the FBI in Washington has become a corrupt, negative and retrograde force in American politics.
Where are our vaunted cyber security forces that this kind of stuff takes place near constantly?
Enough of the political crap... in the 60’s they went after MLK and the civil rights movement - now they target Trump supporters. Enough of that crap. Leave 'the political' to politicians.
If the FBI can't protect themselves, how are they going to protect us?
Wondering if this hack could have occurred when that stupid Secret Service guy plugged the Chinese malware thumb drive into his laptop. We were later told the laptop didn’t connect to anything....right...and I have a bridge to sell you.
Before Trump 16 of the previous 24 years the Rats ran the FBI. What we have now is the result.
Actually, the FBI is so busy pursuing fake Trump hackers that they do not bother checking on sorros type hackers doxing people for merely owning guns.
So, the Mexican police chickens coming home to roost with these gelded idiots who are foing to get whacked by gangs.
Yeah, and she is not even prosecuted as a spy. What a joke. Do that in China and see what happens. These people do not joke.
You mean you want Attorney General Barrs info....
No.

What’s wrong with exposing FBI gestapo cowards who murder women, children and babies? Oh, I forgot. The gestapo FBI is overflowing with heroes who will expose the criminal deep state. Oh, wait, no it’s not. The Gestapo FBI will pile in with 50 nazi pigs and raid the house of an old man so they can look tough.
