“can this really be “it” this time?”

Back during the “Trust Sessions” and “Q” frenzies, I thought they might have been holding fire for the midterms, as an October surprise.

The same kind of theory might still apply, for the 2020 re-election. Maybe they are planning backward from the election, to allow enough time for the effects they want to achieve (Convictions, exposure, swamp draining).

Another possibility, is that there is such deep and widespread corruption, that a long and massive investigation was required, to roll up the network, and get to the kingpins. It might have just taken two years of hard work behind the scenes.

It does seem like things are really ripening now though, with the Mueller report in, a new Attorney General, Rod Rosenstein leaving, and the long awaited DOJ IG report expected in another month or two. Maybe the recent break in the status of Julian Assange/Wikileaks might even be related.

So it could very well be that the long awaited storm is on its way after all.

When will these 8 names be released? Is Comey, Clapper or Brennan sweating bullets about now or are they kicking back with no cares in the world?

I’m optimistic. Barr doesn’t seem to be the potted plant Mr. Sessions was. There’s a lot of justice to be served, today might just be the day the ball really got rolling.

“doesn’t the committee have to vote to do this?”

Anyone can report a crime. Prosecutors are just held more accountable when formal referrals are made by legislators.

If they just ignore crimes, even when they are formally brought to their attention like this, they themselves should be removed as negligent or corrupt. As a practical matter, they have to answer the mail from any member of Congress - but members of their Oversight Committee, like ranking member Nunes, carry special weight.

During AG Barr’s now famous “I think spying did occur” testimony, he said that he wanted to get a team together, to look at all the related previous and ongoing investigations, like his own Inspector General’s, as well as Congressional investigations.

Well the head of the Congressional investigation (Nunes) just notified him the next day that there were 8 specific criminal referrals for him.

“When will these 8 names be released?”

In a normal professional investigation, they should seek to not release names until they file an indictment.

So barring a leak, we should have to wait until people are arrested or called to court, or we see search warrants being executed.

“If true, it’s all out war on Barr...Hope he’s ready.”

I doubt that he would be surprised.

A wise prosecutor would prepare and strategize for a long time, to get all their ducks in a row, before engaging powerful enemies.

I’d guess that it has been being prepared in earnest for about 18 months, between the DoJ IG, Huber, Congressional investigators and others.

“The decision to prosecute or not is his, but is he then obligated to explain why”

As a practical matter yes. But, as long as the investigation (or a related investigation) is ongoing, he should NOT provide any details.

So an AG who seeks to stonewall or slow roll Congress (like Eric Holder) could hide from explaining why for years.

But in an honestly functioning Government, yes, the AG would be obligated to explain his decision eventually. Devin Nunes is on the Congressional Committee with direct oversight of DoJ.

Republican Rep. Devin Nunes sent a criminal-referral notification to Attorney General William Barr on Thursday alleging several “potential violations” of the law... alleged misconduct during the FBI’s investigation into Russian meddling and contacts with Trump advisers during the 2016 campaign. The referrals stem from the investigation conducted by the House Intelligence Committee when Republicans held the House majority.

There will be more shredding and burying of heir spying involvement for weeks.

What a waste of time and effort, NSA thanks Admiral Mike Rogers has of all this spying and acts of sedition, stored safely away.

That is life for democrats — and the msm — for the next 6 years.

Rep. Matt Gatez (R-FL) on Wednesday filed a resolution to remove House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) from the Committee and revoke his security clearance.

#BREAKING: Today I filed the “PENCIL Act,” expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that “Congressman Adam Schiff should be removed from the House Intelligence Committee and his security clearance immediately revoked.” pic.twitter.com/1FsMt6NUjr— Rep. Matt Gaetz (@RepMattGaetz) April 11, 2019

Gatetz appeared on Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight" to explain why he filed the resolution.

“I have filed legislation today, sent to the House, that Adam Schiff needs to be removed from the Intelligence Committee, because how are the rest of us supposed to be able to rely on a man, who you just showed, lied to the American people when he said that there was not spying? Or when he lied and said that there was actual evidence of collusion or clear evidence of collusion?” Gaetz began.

“If Adam Schiff is able to review covert operations and intelligence, and if we have to rely on his representation, our whole system is broken," Gatez said. "It would be like putting Lori Loughlin in charge of the college board. It would be like putting Jussie Smollett in charge of the hate crime of the FBI.

A criminal referral or criminal recommendation is a notice to a prosecutory body, recommending criminal investigation or prosecution of one or more entities for crimes which fall into that body’s jurisdiction. ... In a direct referral, agencies refer cases to the U.S. Attorney in the district where the crime occurred.

By the way, where is Dan Rather today?
