I suspect that Assange has a dead man’s switch set to dump incriminating evidence on many many more important people in all parts of the world. I'm suspicious by nature and would take a good guess that those who have been wanting him in custody have been working feverishly to short circuit any such dead-man's switch before they take him.
If true, it would seem that Julian's arrest has proven that their efforts have been successful. We shall see.
