I read the previous IG Report. I would not call it a whitewash. It provided the evidence to get McCabe fired, which he was, and to get his case given to a federal prosecutor and grand jury, which it also was.
Between there and indicting him the trail seems to have grown cold (we learned about the grand jury last September, but nothing has yet come out of it.)
There is also the Huber angle. I'm of the opinion that Huber is potted plant, only there to make the scenery look better. But some people are still holding out hope for him to drop a bucket full of indictments based on IG Horowitz's investigations (and other things that Huber alone might be looking into, like Uranium One.)
Of course many of the people waiting on Huber were big supporters of the "Trust Sessions" theory (and probably still are). so take it was a few grains of salt.
Huber is a potted plant. Appointed by Sessions to avoid appointing a
Special Council. It was nothing more than a headfake.
There was only one criminal referral from the first IG report. And that one referral was about McCabe leaking information that actually hurt the Deep State. McCabe's leak outed Hillary and the Obama FBI/DOJ coverup of the Hillary investigation.
That's a fact.
That's the track record.
And it's pretty bad.
I never heard if McCabe was ever granted his pension, out if that ship has sailed... He was fired the day before he was entitled to full pension, correct?
I’m cautiously optimistic about the Horowitz report. One key is that I don’t think it needs to be a total bombshell to get things moving. It just needs to reveal enough to justify (aka provide political cover for) further investigation. I suspect the FISA abuse was so flagrant that even if Horowitz minimizes it there will still be enough there to make possible a “we need to follow follow the facts where they lead” type argument for digging deeper. That’s when Barr appoints another special counsel, this time to go after the bad guys.
