How low can it go?

It will go to zero just like 2008-9. But a giant spot just rotated into view, and it is worrth about 10 or so in the sunspot count (size matters). So the sunspot number is up again:

He's incorrect. It's the usual mistake, comparing natural production of CO2 to manmade production of CO2. But mankind only produces CO2, and does not consume it (for the most part). OTOH, nature consumes almost the same amount of CO2 that it produces. In fact the rise from 280 ppm to 410 ppm is almost entirely manmade. Without manmade production there would have been a rise from 280 to perhaps 290 or so, due to natural warming following the Little Ice Age.

The incorrect comparison of natural production to manmade production while ignoring all the natural uptake is a very common myth but not a good basis for taking a position. It's not scientific, not in the least. The scientific position is to point out that extra manmade CO2 is a benefit.
