It is somewhat inaccurate to call slavery “America’s Original Sin.” The politicians seeking reparations fail to call to account the European colonial powers that instituted slavery in North America or the African and Arab slave traders. The USA did not create slavery. It was already well established when American achieved independence.
When Sharpton seeks redress from the Dutch, the English, the French, the Portugese, the Spanish, etc., let us know.

Slavery was introduced into EUROPEAN colonies under the laws of Europe. The United States did not exist as the first slaves were off-loaded onto North America, in accordance with BRITISH laws. We were merely an English colony and you are the first to state the fact. I applaud you and criticize myself for not having the nerve to do it myself.
