The colleges and universities (and K-12), the media/entertainment, the cities, the Deep State (at the national, state and local level), the legal system, the churches (particularly the Black churches that preach Liberation Theology) , et al., are filled to the brim with people over 25 who believe in socialism/communism (and many support it even if they don't consciously know it by its names).

They have been brainwashed.

Socialism/communism may be a con game that doesn't work, but these people believe in it...they have been conditioned to believe it works.

Many of our neighbors are counted among the enemy.

Exactly right. Its not hard to brainwash people with promises of free stuff at the expense of successful people whom they deeply resent. Its an easy sell.
