Is that when the Poles came down and whooped up on the Ottomans?

Re: Is that when the Poles came down and whooped up on the Ottomans?

I think you are referring to Jan Sobieski, King of Poland, who beat up the Muzzies in 1683.

The Ottoman Turks were attacking Polish border towns and southern Russia at least since the 1500s.

Believe it or not, Poland was almost as large (geographically) as Russia in the 1500s.

When Ivan the Terrible became Czar around 1550, no one actually knew that northern Siberia extended all the way to the Pacific Ocean.

Northern Siberia was basically the largest and most sparsely populated forest in the world.
