A lawyer for President Trump has bad news for congressional Democrats crusading to release the presidents tax returns.
In a letter Friday, William Consovoy said the IRS is forbidden from divulging tax information without a legitimate legislative purpose. He also maintained that doing so would set a dangerous legal precedent
This, after House Ways and Means chair Richard Neal petitioned the IRS for six years worth of the presidents tax returns. Consovoy called the move a transparent effort to harass a sitting president, simply out of dislike for his politics.
I want to see that dirtbag Richard Neal’s tax returns.
The best defense is a good offense. Trump should order the IRS to conduct the “audit from hell” on all Members of Congress. The obvious and legitimate reason would be to safeguard against corruption and conflicts of interest. This should be done annually until Congress finally enacts real tax reform that massively simplifies the system.
“then impeach him if he so much as steps on a crack”
They don’t have the votes to impeach, much less to remove.
Have the Marines arrest them pending a military tribunal in GITMO.
Yeah...after years and years of tax reviews, he’s “hiding something?” Can’t believe you are back here. Don’t know much about taxes, eh?
If?
Every facet of government is politicized.
No but they can leak them! I have a friend who works with the IRS in Houston and she say her workmates hate trump so I don’t doubt for one minute a IRS employee is willing to take the hit!! Anyways whoever leaks any of Trump’s tax return will face a friendly judge who will give them a pass or a slap on the wrist!! Justice is dead in America.! ..crooked demonKKKrats always skate!!
Lol
Riiiiiiight. lol
I’d love to see that with many in the Fed. Gov., but it’ll never happen...(sigh)
Tell that to the Polish officers buried at Katyn, who were murdered by the NKVD in 1940.
The NKVD lasted till after the war.
It appears as though the Left wants to revive it here in America.
We can arrange a "date" with Sergeant Donny Donowitz...
Thanks onyx.
If I’m not mistaken, Chuck Schumer has the right to release anyone’s tax returns.

Ol' Quarter Ton of Fun Jerry is a very BIG JOKE.
A long, long time ago:
I'm surprised they haven't already been leaked by the AH's at the IRS.
I had rather see Nanacy’s and Chucks tax returns.......wow
That’s what I figure may happen....leaks.
Seems to me if Congressional Dems want Trumps tax returns all they need do is ask Rachel Maddow or CNN for them. They have been fishing for a longer period in the same pond as them . Unfortunately all they have been able to come up with was the embarrassment of him paying his taxes. Who knows, eventually if they fish long enough theyll catch a bass.....or perhaps Steele has a dossier in the wings that Dems can present to the court as a foundation for getting his returns.
I am of the opinion that if push comes to shove and the IRS must supply the tax return in accordance with the law, then:
The IRS secures a location - 24 hr IRS agents guarding the room.
Places all returns, plus all tax code, plus all related internal investigative documents, into an unorganized pile of boxes in the above location.
Provides access to ONLY the requesting chairman.
Removes any recording devices from phones, to pen/paper from the chairman.
Allows the chairman into the location, and is monitored by no less than 2 IRS agents while in the location, to prevent recording of any kind.
The chairman, and ONLY the chairman, is then free to look for, locate, and memorize any related tax return information. However, the location will only be available during normal business hours.
The chairman will have continuous access to the location, however, if the chairman does not utilize the location for 5 consecutive days, then the request will be considered closed. Any further access will require additional requests.
Each day, upon exiting, the chairman is reminded that it is illegal to share tax return information with any other individual. Shareing of such information would result in criminal prosecution.
