Actually Rand Paul seems like one of the most independent minded Senators in the body. We all know where he comes from, in terms of his father’s philosophy, but even there he’s his own man and doesn’t mimic many of his dad’s beliefs.

I really like the guy. I was a fan of his at the start of the 2016 race, but having said that, Trump was just a much more compelling candidate to me once I saw them in action.

I do think Rand is still sometimes put his libertarian-leaning principles above common sense, but that’s not the worst of what goes on in the Senate and House by a long shot.

Same here... But he kind of goofed his performance in that first debate. It showed a bit of arrogant immaturity and exposed that he wasn’t quite ready yet.
