It began when Palo Alto resident Rebecca Parker Mankey attempted to shame an elderly white man wearing a red Make America Great Again hat as he sat in the coffeehouse an encounter she later wrote about on social media. Calling him a "hater of brown people," Mankey said she yelled at him and addressed Starbucks customers and employees to join her in her effort. She said she left the store but soon returned and continued to yell at him. Mankey said she was "heartbroken" that other white people didn't stand up against the man wearing what has become for some a symbol of hate. She followed him out of the store to the parking lot, where she continued to berate and swear at him.
She called the man "Nazi scum" and threatened to post pictures of him on social media, which she then did, along with her version of the incident on her Facebook page and on Twitter. She asked the public for help finding him "I want him to have nowhere to hide," she wrote -- a practice called "doxing," or posting personal contact information to encourage threats and harassment.
The incident has had repercussions not only for Mankey, who said on Tuesday she's received death threats and was fired from her job as an accountant, but also for her former employer, Gryphon Stringed Instruments. Staff at the store said they were inundated with angry phone calls and emails Monday and Tuesday.

Laz? Oh wait, you said in his right mind...
I’ve been pretty drunk before (many years ago), but I was never ever THAT drunk.
That one’s lifelong ptsd material, at best.
No, she doesn’t look mentally ill. Not at all.
The people at Gryphon Stringed Instruments are are probably relieved that she's a former coworker.
And watching the door very closely to make sure she doesn't show up full of self-righteous rage and ready to exact vengeance!
My feeling is these are the kids whose parents raised them on Ritalin and other drugs to keep them “manageable.” There were a lot of articles written during the ‘80s and ‘90s wondering and sometimes warning about what these kids would be like when they grew up.
Maybe we’re finding out.
I find people are much more polite when they are unsure if the other is armed.......
What do we expect of fatherless subjects of heavy anti-male indoctrination?
Well played. LOL
Love that movie.
You’d have to be $hitfaced to wake up next to that freak.
Well to be honest, I wouldn’t touch that with a laser range finder from 5km away.
I live in Southern CA (Orange County) and drive a Car with “TRUMP 45” Vanity Plates. I have had them on the Car for almost three years.
In all that time I only had ONE Dude try and make a stink, while I was getting Gas at my local Costco. As I was about to pull away from the Pump, a Mexican guy walks over and asks me if my License Plate was referring to POTUS Trump. (duh)
I say yes and he starts ranting and raving about how bad Trump is, the usual Liberal blather. I decided not to get out of the Car since I have no idea what this guy is about, so I just say “well, this is America” and he walks away still carrying on like a Nut. I caught the tail end of his rant on my dash cam as he walked away.
That and a couple of One Finger Salutes is all I’ve had to deal with since I got the Plates. Most of the time I meet some nice people and have some interesting conversations. There are a lot of closet Trump Fans out there.
“This stuff is going on everywhere.”
Oh yeah, it’s not just reported. Like other Freepers here, I placed my MAGA hat on the dashboard while I ate more than a few times and more than once, some ‘characters’ I knew by body language had some bad intentions towards my SUV. The only thing that ‘saved’ them (from me kicking their asses) is me looking out towards the car and I recommend Freepers do this too..
She followed him out of the store to the parking lot, where she continued to berate and swear at him.L
I would have knocked her ass out cold right on the spot. Then I would have gone back to enjoying the coffe that I paid for.
Oh, and see my tag line.
L
I think I would just boil my own bunny rather than invite her home for the night.
Broadly diverse, proudly inclusive, genuinely Progressive!
Lie, lie, truth.
