Says the idiot who thinks cows eat grain from troughs.

That’s what my grandfather called them. When they weren’t in the grazing fields, they were in pens, and they were fed via a trough. It was either bailed alfalfa hay or chopped alfalfa silage, and when we were getting close to butchering, some grain added in the mix.

Not sure why anyone jumped on that comment.

Just to be fair, I used to work on a diary farm. The cows grazed in pasturage but when they came in to be milked they also ate from troughs. In the winter, they ate exclusively from troughs as the ground was often deep in snow. Mostly they ate corn ensilage though, not grain.
