The National Rifle Association has recovered from a membership drop after President Trumps 2016 election and is now at the highest levels ever 'in its history'...New figures put the membership at approximately 5.5 million.
Typically the gun lobby membership dips after elections, especially in nonelection years like this year. But officials said it is holding steady at unusually high levels, an indication that members are steeling for the upcoming presidential election.
The positive news for the NRA comes amid lingering concerns about a costly New York fight. It prompted Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre to write a letter to supporters warning of a negative court ruling.
But some NRA officials said that the case is going well and they expect an eventual victory.
Many new gun advocates signed up as annual NRA members after the latest gun control fight and have since continued their membership.
Whats more, there are expectations that membership in the NRA will continue to grow going into the 2020 elections that will pit NRA fan Trump against gun control Democrats. The group is just at the beginning of its series of annual events around the country where new members typically join, such as the upcoming April 26-28 national convention in Indianapolis.

Ehhh! Red flag law NRA. Fix NICS NRA. Bumpstock ban NRA... and on and on...
Brainwashing for a new generation of Fudds.
Can you translate that into readable English please? Thank you.
So I take it that you are anti NRA? You wouldn’t even be able to own a BB gun today if it wasn’t for the NRA.
Excellent.
The NRA is doing a lot of important work, protecting our 2nd Amendment rights.
They need our support.
I take it that you take the Second amendment for granted and don’t think that it’s threatened.
Great News ! If it weren’t for the facts. That is a very small number if you take into consideration the number of gun owners in the USA. Not to mention the number of background checks done every month. And yes I know that the background check numbers reflect repeat buyers and random repeat background inquiries done by law enforcement agencies like they do here in KY. Here’s where sadly the NRA is missing the opportunity to double or triple there membership numbers. Just the number of new gun buyers alone should be a huge driver of new membership. Who better to want the guidance and advice of the NRA than a new buyer with possibly no gun experience many of whom are women. It’s time for the NRA to figure this out. More money for membership. Less spending on ridiculous junk mailings. I am the NRA Life Member in fact. I don’t need Junk Mail. I need a larger membership to help me insure that my rights are not infringed.
Well, the NRA did, once, withhold an endorsement for a Senate candidate because their membership was angry that they intended to endorse Harry Reid.
And in the last two months... (Nov. 2012 and Dec. 2012)
And it continues...
And there is more...
And more...
And yet more...
And more and more and...
We just keep buyin' more...
And we bought more more more...
And more and more and more...
Could it be? More?
More Americans buy more guns...
We just love guns...
Buy a gun, you'll be in Hogg Heaven!
Another month, another record!
KEEP FLAPPIN' YOUR LIPS, DEMOCRATS! WE'LL BUY MILLIONS MORE. ;-)
You are right on the money. The NRA has fought for our rights through thick and thin.

NRA better get off it’s azz and file against Pittsburgh recently passed law banning AR’s.
Until the demonRATs went full crazy, anti-gun, the NRA would regularly back demonRATs over pubbies. Many of us would get pissed but back then, the demonRATS were a different party. Some demonRATs were very pro-gun and the NRA was a single issue lobby.
Having been a NRA member since the late 60s, I will say that the NRA has been 100% pro-gun owner, even if they did back some demonRATs over pubbies because the demonRAT had a proven voting record in favor of the 2nd Amendment.
Horsecrap. The NRA is progressively pushing gun control.
They do these PR moves to get adherents and then they pull out, just like when the Komen Breast Cancer started claiming they were pro life only to reverse after the donations came in
